The center's specialists daily helped Ukrainians who relocated within the country or to one of the 7 EU countries (Poland, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Lithuania and Germany). The Diia.Business virtual center was designed to provide all the necessary answers remotely.
During the pilot project, specialists of Diia.Business centers provided advise Ukrainians on staying in 7 countries: Poland, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Lithuania and Germany.
After the consultation was sent an individual road map with a list of useful materials, information about contact centers and other recommendations.
For whom?
Citizens of Ukraine who were forced to leave their homes and go abroad due to the invasion of Russian troops. And now they are looking for answers regarding their own legalization and receiving financial support from the governments of the host EU countries.
Entrepreneurs who want to temporarily move their business within Ukraine or to European countries.
Representatives of small and medium-sized businesses who were forced to move abroad and are going to return to Ukraine.
How will it help?
Russia's war against Ukraine caused the largest wave of forced displacement since World War II.
Due to the policy of European countries, Ukrainians:
- get the opportunity to live in EU countries for a year with a further extension of the term up to three years;
- are not required to apply for refugee status;
- can officially get a job or open their own business after agreement with the institution for foreigners;
- receive financial assistance, as well as funds to pay for housing (in particular, rented from private individuals);
- receive health insurance.
Despite this, emigrants from Ukraine in European countries faced a lack of information about the rules and procedures for registration of their own stay, business registration, employment and assistance.
The Diia.Business virtual center was designed to provide all the necessary answers in a remote format.
Consultants of the Diia.Business virtual center helped to find answers regarding:
- EU best practices and rules for starting and supporting a business (taxes, simplified business registration, business support resources);
- employment, training and retraining, finding employees;
- search for housing, office, kindergarten, school;
- legal status of persons staying in EU countries;
- payments and information on providing support to forcibly displaced persons in EU countries;
- profile contacts of volunteers, organizations, foundations.
The project was initiated by the teams of the Entrepreneurship and Export Promotion Office and the national project Diia.Business and is being implemented by the NGO “Consulting Center for the Support of Small and Medium Businesses” with the assistance of the “Project to Support Diia”, which is implemented by the UN Development Program in Ukraine with the financial support of Sweden.
